Posted by Michael McCarthy on Facebook, many thanks Mike. :)

Quick heads up, if you're into 2m/70cm or even PMR... from today 04/10/23 right round until next Tuesday, the tropospheric forecast looks good. Ranging from fair to intense conditions on Monday next week, it will be a good chance of some long distance contacts.
I'm fully expecting 14 division France belting through during this coming week, on PMR.
Well worth keeping an ear out!

I'm watching the forecast and this weekend could be good for working across the channel or down to the west country, I would like both! 🙂

Tony

I listened to four 14 division stations yesterday all on Ch 1 pmr, but they were all speaking a foreign language.::)

Here I was quite happily chating to Julian CT4952 on Ch14 pmr and at 8.10pm we had a qsk!
As this a topic about tropo on VHF/UHF you may have guessed it was 14 division, not only that but Mr Jacky 14 frs 119 in Coutances, Normandy. ;D

That's the good news, the bad news is that he is working Monday evening so can't call into the South Coast PMR Net. :'(

Did Julian get a chance do some DXing and chat to Jacky, and have you seen Mike 1074 has put a video up of a 1/2 watt contact with Jacky as well?

I think Monday is going to be interesting, I'm expecting a mixture of local and DX contacts

Tony

No Ray, Julian couldn't hear him as his antenna was indoors. ::)

As for Mike's video I did have the first one he put on Youtube on our front page last night but he removed that. He has now put the new edited version up so I have just added that here. That video was from a morning session and Mike didn't reach Jacky.

I have fingers crossed firmly for tomorrow.
