Hello all and welcome.

Here is the penultimate episode of 2024, for the "Ray Reviews" the South Coast Channel 14 Monday Night PMR net

or

"I wonder when we will get snow?"

The net was held on Monday 23rd of December 2024 and, to the surprise of most, started at 20:00 🕗 UK local time and went on until past 23:00 🕚 when those that were left decided to call it a night or was it a morning, I can't remember?

My set up was the CRT Space U powered by a car battery 🔋 and the "Sputnik" antenna up on a fibre glass pole.

The net is held on analogue channel 14 with the radio set to NFM and no CTCSS, DCS, privacy tones used. This makes it open all regardless of what radio you use or radio knowledge. From beginner to experience radio user, all are welcome and don't worry about a callsign or handle, you don't need it.

My location on this cold, cloudy, drizzly, misty night was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌴 Forest in the county of East Sussex.

With the when, where, weather and what time out the way, on with the list of Check in's and who heard and worked who.

Thank you all called into the net and a special thank you to those who came out in the freezing 🥶 conditions and called in from your local high spot.
Sorry if you tried and wasn't heard, please try again another Monday night.

Special mention for Mike CT 1074.
He set up a Meshtastic node on Devils Dyke and was "pinging" out a message to all who could hear him, and while on the net he made contact with 141 nodes and the 2 furthest nodes confirmed where Corfe Mullen in Dorset and Hertford in Hertfordshire.

Other topics of the night were the new 4M net and how do you snap a crank shaft?

That about brings this episode to an end, thank you for reading this far down and let me know if you have spotted a mistake, I will happy try to correct it.

Hello and welcome

Come sit round the fire and warm up or dry out, and I will begin this episode of "Ray Reviews" the South Coast PMR net held on the evening of 13-01-2025.

or did you know

"that back on the 13th of January 1967, Johnny Cash performed in Folsom state prison, California".

The net is held on analogue channel 14 or 446.16875 MHz and is open to all.
No CTCSS, DCS or "privacy" tones are used and you don't need a callsign or CB handle, just call in with your name and location and if the chair 💺 can hear you he will answer you.

My set up was the trusty CRT Space U powered by the car battery 🔋, the 1/4 wave "Sputnik" antenna up on a pole and some old thin coax, with a bit of black tape hiding a chip out of the outer cover.
This was placed in Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌴 Forest in the county of East Sussex, which is near the town of Crowborough.

The net is scheduled to start at between 20:00 🕗 to 20:30 🕣, depending on when the chair 💺 arrives and gets set up, and finishes anytime after 23:00 🕚. If you decide to tune in early, you could be rewarded with hearing and taking part in the pre-net chat.

The temperature while the net was on, stayed around the 1 to 2 degrees C mark, the sky had partial cloud and what looked like a full moon 🌕 was on show

With the when were and what time out the way, on with the list of check in's and who heard and worked who.

But first, thank you to toby and Nigel for the snacks 🍗🍪 to keep the chair 💺 going 👍

Hello all and welcome

Here is another windy episode of "Ray Reviews" the South Coast PMR night held on Monday 27th of January 2025

or

"Bye Eowyn, hello Herminia and when will Floris rock up?"

The net can be found on PMR analogue channel 14 or 446.16875 MHz and doesn't use any kind of DCS, CTCSS tones or any gimmick voice scramblers. We try to keep it simple so all can join in and be apart of the net.

My location for the night was a chilly and windy, no blustery Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex.

The net is scheduled to start anytime between 20:00 🕗 and 20:30 🕣 local UK time and will finish from 23:00 🕚 onwards. If you do listen in before the start, you could hear the pre-net chat and be rewarded with a chance to hear the very rare listing stations.

My set up for the night was the CRT Space U powered by a car battery 🔋 and a 1/4 wave (Sputnik) antenna up on a bending fibreglass pole.

So with the wind blowing a hoolie, and rocking the vehicle all night, here, in no particular order is the list of check in's and who heard and worked who.
