Just as the title said.

"What to do with 1 or more 18650 Li-ion battery?"

Got any suggestions?

Tony

How about attaching it to a Meshtastic device and join the many others who are experimenting with them. ;D

No.

I've watched a few video's on U-tube and it doesn't interest me.

But if I can get a few more batteries I'm happy to pass them on for repurposing.

Razz229

After a conversation on the Southern Area & South Coast SSB Net and a warning or two, curiosity got the better of me and I ripped open the blue cover to reveal this little circuit board.

Any ideas what it does?

Tony

Pass, I have no idea Ray.

Do you know what they are or were used on, or are you in the dark?

Kind of in the dark with this, it could have come from 1 of the following bits of kit.
There is some other stuff that, I have no idea what it's used for yet, as well.

Cordless phone
Smoke detector
Personal assist alarm
Cordless home alarm monitoring base station thing

Ray, Julian has just looked at the pics and is quite certain he knows what the circuit is.
To be 100% sure he will need to have it in front of him, as usual it is difficult to see exactly from photos.

If a pigeon, as in Toby could pick it up from yourself, John or moi will transport it to Julian. for inspection.

I will see if I can get another 1 on Monday and pass it on to Toby the next time I see him 👍

That dissected one or a virgin one will do. ;D

Dissected 1 on its way via Pony Express 😄

It has arrived at it's local depot (4515) and will be out for delivery shortly! :)

Maybe, we will all gain an answer to the question, "What is that circuit board for?"

Razz229

I was thinking the other day about the the 18650 battery and had this good aka crazy idea.

If the circuit board is a charge controller of sorts, could you wire up a small garden LED solar panel to it?

Your thoughts. . . .

OnTheMicwithMike

It looks similar to an LED driver found in Flashlights. It's more than likely a small charge controller to prevent overcharging & switching off when the battery has reached a certain percent of charge :)

That's what I'm hoping.

Now what to use for a charger?
