Yeah at just over a minute a contact it must be, no time for a decent chat . Must of been pretty manic for the poor old net controller at that rate!

I monitored this net tonight 15/12/2024, as susspected it's a 'get your name in the log' net.
It is advertised as 7 till 8.30pm but by 7.02pm the total was already 33. (Names being added to the log from 6.30ish)



At 7.29pm the total stood at 70

I had heard enough by then so got on with other stuff.
I will say it sounds as if they get many who get up high with hand helds, they also use a number of relay stations spread around which helps a lot.

They all seemed to enjoy the net 'as is'

I don't see a problem with adding Zello contacts to a log as long as it is shown to be a Zello contact.

With a bit more information, I (as a chair of a net or 2) would ask if anybody wants to log the Zello check in's and post up their log on the Radio Forums or Facebook groups for all to see, or I would just log it and put a Z (for Zello) next to that person.

Back in the past of the South Coast PMR net, we had call in's from an Internet gate way based in Balcombe, naughty cross band stations using the German Freenet frequencies to call in and a call from Wales via phone, then transmitted over the radio. All made the log with notes.

What I'm saying is keep the log's honest and transparent.

Not a Bad first DX for 2025 With 60+ stations worked as I didn't log  all of them! PB of 177 miles in the UK and 187 miles through the Dublin Repeater!
