Hello all and welcome

Here is another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night South Coast Channel 14 PMR Net, held on the 14-04-2025

or

"On this date in history, the unsinkable RMS Titanic hits an Iceberg and starts to sink, by the end of the next day, she was at the bottom of the sea"

The net can be found on analogue channel 14 with the radio set for Narrow FM. It doesn't use any kind of tone or privacy codes, making it open and accessible to all, even the IQ-0 operators.

My working conditions were the CRT Space U powered by a car battery 🔋 and a Stavo built 1/4 wave antenna up on a fibreglass pole.

The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finishes at 23:00 🕚 or later. If you turn in before 20:30, you could be part of the pre-net chat.

My location for the night was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county East Sussex near the town of Crowborough. It is also known as the home of Winnie the Pooh or JO01BB, WWFF locator GFF-0319, POTA ref GB-0251 and others.

With the when, where and what time out the way, on with the list of check in's and who heard and worked who.

Thank you to all who called in, to the listening stations (you know who you are) and to Shawn who came up to see Radio Corner and meet some of the other net users. Sorry if you tried calling in and wasn't heard, please try another night or do what Adam Delta 31 did on the night, call in later once things had settled down.

The main topic of ridicule was the IQ-0, who tried to block the net, with music, but gave us a laugh due to playing the same recording, then de-keying to rewind his tape to play it again. Even the police who were chatting to a station on the net, showed an interest it what was going on when they heard 1 particular recording.

So being the helpful person that I am, I suggested using a C-60 tape, putting a rubber band round the PPT switch and turning the radio up to full power.

Just before 22:00, IQ-0's mummy changed his nappy, gave them a bottle 🍼 with some Calpol and tucked them up in their cot with their snuggle blanket.

That brings this episode of "Ray Reviews" to an end, thank you for reading and have you spotted any mistakes or worse have I missed you off the list?
