Hello all

Welcome to my report for the Southern Area and South Coast SSB net held on Thursday 12-01-2023

The net can be found on channel 39 mid-block or 27.395 LSB and is scheduled to start at 8 o'clock GMT or 20:00 Hrs

The weather for all the WX followers, was, clear skies, cold and windy.
The frequency was busy with various Canadian stations Dxing to Texas and the southern states, 2 American's exchanging cooking recipes and the odd 1 division calling. This made a pleasant change to hearing the sound of white noise between overs.

Here the list of stations heard and or worked by the net

Hello all and welcome

Here is my report of the Thursday night SSB net held on the 26/01/2023

Having missed the previous weeks net due to being knocked out by Covid, I was looking forward to being back out on Ashdown Forest.

So with fully charged batteries, a flask of hot water and finishing work early, I was set up in Radio Corner before 20:00 and ready to go.

The weather was cold, cloudy with moisture in the air.

At 8 o'clock I called out, in between the many US/Canadian stations, to start the net.

First heard was. . . .

Thank you all who called in, sorry if you tried and wasn't heard

Welcome to another Ray reviews. "Hold on stop, this is the SSB net not the Monday night PMR net, so lets start again"

Hello all

Welcome to my report for the SA & SC SSB net held on Thursday 09-02-2023.
The net can be found on channel 39 LSB on the FCC or mid-block or 27.395Mhz LSB, the net is scheduled to start at 8 o'clock GMT or 20:00 Hrs UTC.

My location for the night was the top of Titsey Hill in the county of Surrey and the set up was the Solarcon A99 and the Anytone AT-6666 with no amp and no power mic.

The weather was cold and clear.

Before the list of stations that called in and were heard and or worked by the net, here is 20 second video of the interference I had to suffer all night.

NB 101--Dave--Edenbridge--Kent
CT 4362--Chris--Reigate Town--Surrey
and me CI 2290--Ray--Titsey Hill--Surrey--Never going there again!

Thank you all who called in and stuck with us and sorry if you tried and found the channel empty. We called it a night at 10.30 as it was become more frustrating to make any kind of contacts or be able to pass people around.

That rounds up this short and slightly disappointing report.

Until next

Hello all

Here is my report for the SA & SC SSB Net held on Thursday 16-02-2023.

After the noise fail from the previous week, I was back up on Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex.

So braving the cold & fog, I set up the antenna with the top disappearing into the pea soup and connected it to the Anytone AT-6666.

The net, for those who may not know, can be found on channel 39 mid-block, channel 39 of the American CB allocation or 27.395 MHz using the LSB mode and starts at 20.00 Hrs or 8 o'clock GMT.

With back ground noise from the US, here is the list of stations heard and  or worked by the net. All stations are 26 division unless stated otherwise.

Please try again next week, coz you never know. . . .

Even with only 17 station on, the net covered 10 counties and London, and the distance between the furthest stations being approximately 195ish miles.
I think someone on the night said quality over quantity, I can't argue with that.

That rounds up the report, so until next time

Hello

Welcome to my report for the Southern Area & South Coast Net.
The net was held on the 16-03-2023 and can be found by tuning around the 11m band until you get to 27.395 MHz Lower Side Band or just turning to channel 39 mid-block using mode LSB.

The net is scheduled to start at 20:00 hrs GMT, but does sometimes start late due to my shift pattern.

My set was the Anytone AT-6666 and the Solarcon A99 from my location of Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex

The weather was cloudy, breezy with moisture in the air making everything wet by the end of the night.

So with the band as quiet as a church mouse , lets get on with the list of stations that called in and were heard and or worked by the net.

Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast Net or the Original Thursday Night Net that was held on Thursday 23-03-2023

The net, for those who have just found this report or don't know, is held on channel 39 mid-block (CEPT) LSB or if you have a VFO 27.395 MHz LSB.

The conditions on air were, to say the least, very strange. Most stations reported low signal readings but higher audio levels!!

Here is the list of crazy portable/mobile and homebase stations that called in and where heard and or worked by the net.

Hello and welcome.

This is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB net AKA The Original Thursday night net, held on 6th of April 2023.

The net can be found on channel 39 LSB on the CEPT/EURO/FFC/Mid-block, what ever you want to call it, or 27.395 MHz LSB and depending on my shift, is scheduled to start at 8 o'clock BST, 20:00 Hrs or 04:00 Korean time.

My location was Ashdown Forest (home of Winnie the Pooh and friends) in the county of East Sussex and my working conditions were the Anytone AT-6666 (no power mic, no amp) and a Solarcon A99 on a pole.

The weather was wet under foot after the earlier rain, but at the start of the net there was high wispy cloud with a gentle breeze, which allowed me to see a red full moon rise in the East.

Ray, I think the motto is 'Do not be tightening your nuts whilst playing radio!' ;D  :P

I don't know if you heard anything that evening, poor old John couldn't get control.
